Toshiba Expands its Storage Portfolio to Include Canvio Slim and Canvio Desk Hard Drives

Toshiba has extended its storage portfolio to include the Canvio Slim, as well as the Canvio Desk: 2.5- and 3.5-inch external hard drives respectively.

Canvio Slim Portable Hard Drive

With a capacity of 500GB, the Canvio Slim is one of the thinnest and smallest 2.5-inch form factor external hard drives currently available in the market. Measuring a mere 8.9mm slim, the drive comes encased in a sleek brushed aluminum design, either in black or silver. Equipped with the NTI Backup Now EZ software, which backs up your entire PC system including OS, settings, programs, and data, so you can restore your system to the last backed-up state in the case of a PC crash. Users can choose to back up specific files or folders, perform automatic schedule backups, and also secure backup files with a password. There's also a password lock feature which prevents unauthorized access to your hard drive.

Canvio Desk Hard Drive

Available in 2TB and 3TB configurations and in black or white colors, the hard drive comes with a fanless design that allows silent operations while effectively keeping cool and reducing power consumption. The 3.5-inch drive also comes loaded with the NTI Backup Now Ez software.

Both devices are backed by a three-year limited warranty, and are available from shopToshiba and major IT retailers from November 2012 onwards.
