Despite skepticism that there was no demand for a 4-inch phone in an era of phablets, the Apple iPhone SE is currently out of stock and there is a waiting time of two to three weeks. This raises the question of where the demand for the iPhone SE is coming from. Localytics, a firm which offers analytics and marketing tools for mobile apps, published a chart on the adoption of the iPhone SE by country.

According to the chart, the highest adoption rates are in Canada, France, Hong Kong and the U.K. This is followed by Germany, New Zealand, the U.S, Australia, Japan and Singapore. Localytics also noted the lower initial adoption rate of the iPhone SE in comparison to the iPhone 6 and 6s.

This contradicts earlier reports of stellar market success in China where over 3.4 million pre-orders were reportedly made through retailers. The iPhone SE is also said to be doing so well in China that local brands are losing market share to Apple. Nonetheless, Apple is estimated to ship between four to five million units this quarter.

Meanwhile, check out our review why the iPhone SE has the staying power despite what most of us might think of a 4-inch phone.
