SuperInternet also has a 10Gbps plan for residential customers

Singtel isn’t the only one to announce a 10Gbps broadband plan for residential customers. The other provider to do so is SuperInternet.

Unlike Singtel’s GPON (Gigabit Passive Optical Network) architecture, SuperInternet is using Optical Ethernet (OE). The biggest appeal is dedicated bandwidth between the serving switch and the end user, which is unlike GPON, where each optical line terminal (OLT) has to serve a specific number of users.

Also, SuperInternet’s 10Gbps plan is a symmetric plan, which means a 10Gbps downstream speed and a 10Gbps upstream speed. SI is also claiming a less than 1ms round-trip delay time (i.e., latency) within its network.

So how much does SI’s plan cost? S$199 per month, for a contract period of 12 months. Optional and chargeable add-ons like static IPv4 on the WAN side and static IPv6 subnet are also available.

Customers who wish to subscribe can email sales@super.net.sg for a subscription form.
