Spotify has just announced a new look, and a new way of organising your playlists – collections under "Your Music". The new design is built around a darker theme, with new typography and rounded iconography. As Spotify puts it, the new theme "lets content come forward and ‘pop’, just like in a cinema when you dim the lights".
The "Browse" function has been updated to bring you more relevant and localised content, and one of the new features Spotify is keen to push, is the concept of collections. Basically allowing you to save songs or albums or artists – complete with cover art –without having to create your own playlist. You can also expect larger fonts, circular avatars for artists, and a more organised "Discover" tab, as much emphasis has been placed on making saving music effortless.
The redesign is going to be rolled out gradually to iPhone, desktop and web users, and will soon be available across all platforms, so all users can expect a fresh new design as well some performance enhancements soon.
