Sony Unveils Its 6.4mm-thin Waterproof Xperia Z2 Tablet

In addition to announcing its waterproof Xperia Z2 and mid-range Xperia M2 at the MWC, Sony has also introduced its waterproof Xperia Z2 tablet which boasts a 10.1-inch Full HD TRILUMINOS Display for mobile with Sony’s new Live Color LED technology.

The world's first tablet to come with Live Color LED display features the Sony X-Reality for mobile engine so you'll enjoy superior viewing experience on top of lifelike colors and sharp images in any light. Equipped with Sony's Front Surround audio technology that helps provide dynamic sound, the 6.4mm thin (the iPad Air's 7.5mm slim) waterproof tablet incorporates Sony's OmniBalance design so it's portable and comfortable to hold, even with just one hand.

Its "What's New" app helps you discover new and recommended movies, music, games, and apps - all accessible from an informative and interactive widget on the home screen:-

  • "WALKMAN" and Movies applications provide access to more than 25 million songs on the "WALKMAN" app through Music Unlimited and tens of thousands of movies and TV series on the Movies app through Video Unlimited from the Sony Entertainment Network
  • Album app with PlayMemories Online makes it easy to securely upload, share, and enjoy all of your photos and videos across your favorite Sony devices
  • Exclusive entertainment content offer: Get 6 blockbuster movies from Sony Pictures including Captain Phillips, 30 days free trial from the Music Unlimited service and a range of PlayStation Mobile games.

Geared with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 processor with 2.3GHz processor Quad-core Krait CPU, you'll admire stunning visuals and 3D gaming, thanks to the enhanced graphics capabilities of the latest Adreno 330 GPU. Running on the Android 4.4 KitKat OS, the integrated Qualcomm Quick Charge 2.0 technology enables devices to charge up to 75% faster than devices without the fast charging technology.

Its large 6,000mAh lithium polymer battery, combined with Sony's Battery STAMINA mode, delivers up to 10 hours of fluid multimedia usage, or more than 100 hours of music playback without having to recharge your battery.

Need to do work on the go? Simply turn your tablet into a laptop with the BKC50BT Bluetooth Keyboard and Tablet Cover Stand. The inclusion of OfficeSuite Pro 7 means you can view, edit, and share native Microsoft Office files whenever you need to. Available in Black or White, the Xperia Z2 Tablet will launch globally from March 2014.

The Sony Xperia Tablet Z2 looks very similar to its predecessor, the Xperia Tablet Z. Much of the changes are under the hood.
