Sony Launches BDV-S790 Blu-ray 3D Player
Sony has announced the BDV-S790.
The latest Blu-ray 3D player from Sony guarantees a picture quality that's four times higher than Full HD movies, redefining home entertainment centers. With the integrated IP Content Noise Reduction, users can enjoy sharper images of Internet content, from low-quality videos on YouTube to streaming movies from commercial services. Its 2D-3D conversion capability allows users to watch Blu-ray 3D movies played in Full HD 1080p.
What's more, it comes with built-in Wi-Fi, so users can make big-screen video calls via Skype. Simply set up a video camera and you are good to go in the comfort of your own living room. Equipped with Sony's own DLNA technology, users can use their favorite music, photos, and movies stored on other Sony DLNA-enabled products like tablets and smartphones to easily cast content wirelessly to the player.
The BDV-S790 is available at all Sony stores and is priced at S$499.

SINGAPORE – The BDV-S790, Sony’s latest Blu-ray 3D player, promises even clearer and sharper images with its future generation 4K2K output, giving a picture quality that is four times higher in picture quality than full HD movies, transforming the run-of-the-mill home entertainment centre into a visual feast for the eyes.
Featuring IP Content Noise Reduction, Sony’s original quality-enhancing circuit creates crisper and clearer images of Internet content, from low-quality videos on YouTube to streaming movies from commercial services. It also gives an instant makeover to images when playing content in Blu-ray and DVD discs. The 2D-3D conversion reproduces natural 3D effects from 2D content, pulling users into a new world of home entertainment with Blu-ray 3D movies being played in full HD 1080.
Using the BDV-S790 to make big-screen video calls via Skype is now a breeze with the unit’s built-in Wi-Fi. By simply setting up a video camera, chatting with faraway relatives and friends is made all the more easier and in the more comfortable setting of the living room.
Featuring Sony’s proprietary DLNA technology, home owners can also make the most of their favourite music, photos and movies stored on other Sony DLNA-enabled products such as its tablets and smartphones to effortlessly “throw” the content wirelessly to the BDV-S790 for enjoyment on a bigger screen or for more sound with its home theatre system.
