Sony hasn't decided on where or how to stream and distribute The Interview

In late November, Sony Pictures was subjected to a massive hack that left its systems crippled and also resulted in its latest movies being leaked. Some of the movies being leaked included the war epic Fury, starring Brad Pitt, and also the recently released Annie.

North Korea has been identified as a possible perpetrator, but it has vehemently denied these claims. It is also believed that the hack was carried out by North Korea in retaliation to The Interview, a film starring James Franco and Seth Rogen, about a plot to assassinate North Korea's Supreme Leader Kim Jong Un.

Following these attacks, Sony also allowed theaters to pull out from showing the film, for fear that they too may be subjected to attacks. Many theaters took up on that offer and Sony subsequently cancelled the theatrical release of The Interview.

However, the company still intends to distribute the film. Sony Pictures CEO Michael Lynton said that its company has not given in and is currently evaluating its options. "There are a number of options open to us, and we have considered those and are considering them."

It was earlier believed that Sony would distribute The Interview on Crackle, Sony's own free, ad-supported streaming service, but no concrete decision has been made yet. Other options thrown around include YouTube and Netflix, but it remains to be seen if the two are willing to do so. BitTorrrent, however, has offered their services, but Sony has yet to respond to them.
