SINGAPORE – Sony is redefining photography with the release of three new compact cameras.

The combination of Sony’s Exmor R CMOS Sensor and the advanced high-speed BIONZ imaging processor capability on the TX200V, WX70 and WX50 enables advanced noise reduction while ensuring high quality and advanced performance during high-sensitivity shooting.

Never miss a memorable moment like a child’s smile or a bird’s flutter with the enhanced Auto Focus function. A key feature found in the TX200V, users will be able to bring subjects into sharp focus at speeds of approximately 0.25 seconds even in dimly lit environments. Under bright conditions, the auto focus speeds are capable of reaching 0.13 seconds for capturing those fast moments.

Need a camera for the next hiking trip? The TX200V is equipped with GPS and Compass functions and also supports GPS log recording, allowing outdoor enthusiasts to display shooting location and lens direction, as well as track journeys on a map to expand their photo viewing pleasure. The camera’s high resistance to water, dust and low temperatures make it the perfect companion in almost any type of environment.

The TX200V, WX70 and WX50 cameras leverage upon the Extra High Sensitivity technology to deliver clearer, more stunning images even in dark settings. Maximum sensitivity is now boosted to ISO 12800, giving more opportunities for spontaneous handheld shooting without flash.

The Optical SteadyShot image stabilisation feature on all three models also promises clearer handheld images with less blur. Camera shake makes zooming and shooting difficult because it hinders composition and can result in blurred photos. The improved feature overcomes camera shakes at long focal lengths where this problem is more noticeable.

To get the best possible settings for the next photo opportunity, the TX200V comes with Photo Creativity interface which allows users who are unfamiliar with camera jargon and detailed settings to shoot more intuitively and creatively by checking how settings affect images in the display.

See images come to life with the new Picture Effect modes (Watercolor and Illustration) found in all three models which allow easy ‘in-camera’ creation of artistic images. Users are also able to enhance their photos with other effects such as HDR Painting, Miniature, Toy Camera, Partial Color, and Soft High-key, with no PC or editing software required. The cameras are also equipped with the Intelligent Sweep Panorama feature, which supports Face Detection and Motion Detection, to capture wide panoramas in one wide-angle shot.

The new Cyber-shot TX200V, WX70 and WX50 digital compact cameras by Sony are available in Asia Pacific from March 2012.
