Sony announces 5 new additions to their ZX series of headphones

Sony’s new ZX series headphones promise to impress you with their “thrilling sound and effortless style”, while three of them in particular add the convenience of Bluetooth listening with quick and easy pairing thanks to support for NFC devices.

MDR-ZX770BN

The MDR-ZX770BN cuts cabin noise and extra background noise for extra comfort on long journeys – be it by plane, train or simply on the bus – thanks to the use of Sony’s latest Digital Noise Cancellation software engine. With 40mm neodymium drivers and Beat Response Control for superior audio quality, the headphones promise rich bass and clear mid-high notes. NFC support allows for one-touch pairing with a NFC-enabled player, and the headphone’s swivel design lets it fold down smaller for easy travelling. With an extended playback time of 13 hours (with Noise Cancelling enabled) on a single charge, the MDR- ZX770BN looks set to be your ideal travel companion.

MDR-ZX770BT

Meanwhile, the MDR-ZX770BT goes one step further, offering 17 hours of wireless music playback on a single charge. While it doesn’t have the noise cancellation features of the MDR-ZX770BN, it does also contain 40mm neodymium drivers and feature a compact, swivel-folding design, allowing you to bring it along easily. Soft wrap-around cushions and a rigid metal headband make for hours of comfortable listening so you can enjoy your music anywhere you go.

MDR-ZX330BT

The MDR-ZX330BT on the other hand, features 30mm driver units that produce a powerful, well-balanced sound. Also featuring NFC for easy one-touch pairing, these on-ear headphones are light, comfortable, and much like the MDR-ZX550BNs before them, have an extra-long battery life (The MDR-ZX330BT manages 30 hours compared to the 25 hours of the MDR-ZX550BNs.), meaning there’ll be more than enough juice to take you through your daily commute.

MDR-ZX770AP and MDR-ZX660AP

Finally, both the MDR-ZX770AP and the MDR-ZX660AP feature separated ground cables that minimize cross-talk, ensuring optimal stereo clarity. They both run flat, tangle-free cables with an in-line remote and microphone for calls, but the MDR-ZX660AP is a smaller on-ear design, making for even greater portability.

The new MDR-ZX770BN, MDR-ZX770BT, MDR-ZX770AP, MDR-ZX660AP and MDR-ZX330BT headphones from Sony will be available in selected Asia Pacific countries from April 2015 onwards, but pricing information has yet to be released.
