If there is one thing lacking in today's smart watches, it would be the ability to reply to emails and text messages quickly from our wrist. This will soon change when Whirlscape's Minuum keyboard is preloaded on upcoming smart watches.
Using the Samsung Galaxy Gear, the Toronto-based startup is able to demonstrate how text input is made more convenient with its Minuum keyboard despite the small screen.
The Minuum keyboard is originally developed by Whirlscape as a third-party option for Android smartphones. The founders of the company told TechCrunch that the Minuum keyboard can be used on a wide range of connected devices such as wearables.
Although the video is an "in-house demo", TechCrunch reports that Whirlscape is already in talks with smart watch manufacturers who can ship their devices with its keyboard in the coming months.
This might be the killer feature that could make wearables take off in the consumer market as current smart watches are quite limited in their functionality.
