SingTel Offers Lite Special Mobile Plan for People with Disabilities

SingTel today announced the launch of a new mobile plan, Special Lite that is specifically catered for the needs of people with disabilities (PWDs).

The Special Lite plan offers 300 minutes of free local outgoing calls, unlimited SMS/MMS and 4GB local data bundle at just S$27.93 (inclusive of GST and after 30% discount). If the contract expires after 24 months, customers will continue to enjoy the 30% discount. As a launch promotion, the LG F70 LTE phone is offered at no charge and the Sony Xperia Z1 at $318. Other handsets are available at attractive discounted prices.

PWDs who sign up before July 6 have to present their notification letter by SG Enable for eligibility of concession card for PWDs or application for public transport concession for PWDs letter, together with their NRIC. If they sign up from July 6, PWDs can present  the PWDs concession card by Transit Link Pte Ltd, or any of the above 2 notification letters with their NRIC.

The launch of the Lite Special plan follows the introduction of Singapore’s first seniors plan in March, and the youth plan in 2007. As part of the seniors’ programme, SingTel organised free clinics to help seniors to set up and get the most from their handsets, as well as provide tips on cyber-safety and using popular social media sites.

StarHub also introduced a similar mobile plan last year for the visually and hearing impaired consumers. Called SmartBuddy, the S$26.60 mobile plan offers 500 mins of local talktime, 5000 SMS/MMS and 6GB local data bundle. The plan was launched in conjunction with StarHub's MySmartEye app for iPhone and Android phones. Below is a quick overview of the two plans offered by the telcos:
