Following M1's announcement of their iPad Air 2 and iPad mini 3 price plans yesterday, SingTel has also unveiled their plans for the devices.

Now what's interesting is that they've subsidized your down-payment cost of the new iPad devices and instead charge you an extra S$15 per month over your subscription plan cost for a period of two years (which is your contractual period). Usually this would mean the total cost of ownership is slightly more than if you were to pay upfront like with M1, which is the case this time if you draw comparisons.

To make up for the higher cost, SingTel is offering its island-wide premium Wi-Fi service for no cost until 31 July 2015 (thereafter you still get 2GB of Wi-Fi traffic free). If you are able to take advantage of the hotspots available, that should greatly help towards keeping a close watch on your data usage.

Stocks and Availability

SingTel advises its customers to check for stock availability here before going down to purchase their tablets. At press time, the page seems to be a bit quirky on certain browsers; after selecting the tablet type and pressing the Go button, the page loads the price plan tab instead. However, manually selecting the Latest Updates and Stock Availability tab gets you the refreshed list of stocks for your selected device at the respective SingTel shops.

Alternatively, you can also order online through the SingTel shop.

Meanwhile, if you've not yet decided if these new tablets are what you need, check out our launch news piece on the key features that they boast.
