Samsung Teases Something Big for IFA 2011

Samsung is usually big on announcements during prominent expos such as Mobile World Congress, CTIA, and in a week's time, IFA Berlin. The Korean company often tags its Samsung Mobile Unpacked event to such shows, and takes the opportunity to unveil potential game changing devices.

As such, it's no surprise to see a teaser video of this Samsung event on the web. Based on what is, the device is most likely a smartphone with a generous screen real estate. The video ends off with "something big is coming" which is most likely an indication that it'll go beyond what its Galaxy S II's 4.27-inch Super AMOLED brings to the table.

The event is also closely tied to speculation of Google's next Android iteration, Ice Cream Sandwich. Samsung has being pegged as one of the competing vendors that will most likely be the manufacturer of the next Google-branded Android device, which is possibly named Google Nexus Prime. Earlier rumors have indicated that the Nexus Prime will sport a large display with a screen resolution of 1280 x 720 pixels.

Adding these two news together, the likelihood of Samsung launching an Ice Cream Sandwich phone is quite high. Either way, the full details should become clear at IFA 2011.
