There's been quite a far bit going on on flexible AMOLED screens, with one allegation going so far as to speculate that the Note II would come with one. Well, unfortunately, that didn't materialize though recent rumors point to a possibility of the Galaxy S VI having one (then again, it might not as Samsung is alleged to have plans unveiling a 4.99-inch 1080p screen with 440ppi at CES. Fortunately, that might not be the only thing that they will be showing, aside the above mentioned and an alleged brand makeover; Samsung Mobile has stated that they will be showcasing a 5.5-inch flexible display with 720p resolution and 267ppi at CES 2013.

This is of course, not the first time that Samsung will be showing off its arsenal of flexible displays - back at last year's CES, they showed off a smaller 4.5-inch WVGA screen.

Mobile Syrup - "During previous Consumer Electronic Shows (CES) Samsung demoed flexible displays and their capabilities. We captured this on film at CES 2011 and it was impressive. Two years later Samsung Mobile Display has teased the masses once again and stated they’ll be showcasing a 5.5-inch flexible display with a resolution of 1280×720, and a 267ppi (pixels per inch) at CES 2013."

Whether it would be just for show or incorporated into a Samsung device - TV, smartphone, tablet or otherwise -, we wouldn't know yet. As for now, its appearance at CES 2013 is a sign that things might finally come to fruition.
