Samsung predicts strong Q1 profit with the help of Galaxy S7
Samsung Electronics just announced their first quarterly guidance, and the Korean electronics company is surprisingly positive about their projected earnings.
According to Bloomberg, the preliminary results released last Thursday said that Samsung’s operating income rose to 6 trillion won (S$7.7 billion) in the three months ended March. This amount is higher than Bloomberg’s estimate of 5.53 trillion-won.
Samsung did not say why they expected an upbeat quarterly performance, although observers such as TechCrunch believe that Samsung’s confidence rose from the success of the Samsung Galaxy S7 flagship smartphone.
If you recall, the Samsung Galaxy S7 and Galaxy S7 Edge got our nod of approval in its full review. It combined the best features in its previous models while improving on new ones, making it an ideal phone for users who want something tried and tested, yet updated with the latest parts.
According to Android Authority, analysts estimate the combined sales of the Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge will hit 10 million units in Samsung’s Q1. Samsung will announce the actual results with its breakdown later this month.
