The Samsung Pebble Blue Galaxy S III Delayed Due to Manufacturing Issues (Update)

Update 3: StarHub will only be sellling the Samsung Galaxy S III Pebble Blue units with 2-year contract tomorrow morning. On the plus side, customers can get it at any of the ten StarHub shops. Units are limited so do head down early!

Update 2: Just in - Singtel will be selling the Samsung Galaxy S III Pebble Blue units with 2-year contract at ComCentre and Ngee Ann City from 6pm today.

Update: Limited Samsung Galaxy S III Pebble Blue units are now available for purchase with 2-year contract at three M1 shops - Paragon, Tampines and West Mall.

GSMArena has gotten official confirmation that the Galaxy S III's Pebble Blue variant will be delayed due to a few manufacturing errors. The official statement, as seen on GSMArena, is as follows:

Samsung - "Samsung’s Galaxy SIII Pebble Blue version comes with a newly invented blue colour and special hyper-glaze material.

In order to meet the highest internal quality standards and to provide the best quality Galaxy SIII to customers, a short supply of Pebble Blue version is expected in some regions in the next 2-3 weeks.

Samsung is working hard to ensure that customers will get the Pebble Blue coloured devices as soon as possible."

An anonymous insider source has tipped off the phone review portal, revealing more details about the manufacturing problems. The blue shades of both front and back panels didn't match and Samsung has now pulled back all the Pebble Blue units to replace them. This probably explains why the Marble White Galaxy S III is the only color available at launch at all three local telcos yesterday. There's no word on when the Pebble Blue version will arrive in Singapore but GSMArena has put the estimated period of waiting at two to three weeks.
