Samsung Galaxy S III to Receive Galaxy Note II Software Features in Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean Update
We first saw the Samsung Galaxy S III Alpha device showing off the multi-window feature in Japan, one that was found exclusively on the Galaxy Note II devices. Well, good news: Samsung is currently seeding the Android 4.1.2 update, which includes the above-mentioned multi-tasking feature, over-the-air for its popular S III device, with Poland being the first country to receive it. As per usual, Samsung will be rolling out the update in phases, and different countries will be getting it at different dates.
The update brings some of the Galaxy Note II software enhancements to the Galaxy S III. Here are part of what Galaxy S III users will be getting in the coming months, if they choose to update:
- Page Buddy
- New Gallery App (Same as in Note II)
- Notification Panel (Notification Panel can now be customized)
- Brightness Slider in Notification Panel Can Now Be Disabled
- Smart Rotation (Screen Display adjusts to your angle of sightings)
- Paper Artist App
- Group Cast App
There's no news on local availability yet, but given the recent fiasco over the Galaxy S III's problematic Android 4.1.1 Jelly Bean update, we reckon that it would probably come end-Dec or early-Jan. In the meantime, we will be checking in with local representatives about the update.
