Samsung Galaxy Note 3 Sports World’s First Mobile Envelope Tracker Chip
While the new Samsung Galaxy Note 3 has yet to receive a full tear down, we've learned that it is the first smartphone to receive Qualcomm's latest technology, the Envelope Tracker chip, which is designed to increase power-efficiency related to LTE use, reducing heat, decreasing power consumption and improving transmit signals for faster uploads.
According to Qualcomm, it does this by matching "the power pushed through the phone’s signal amplifier to the actual power needed to transmit a signal."
It remains to be seen if this will significantly improve the Note 3's battery life. Stay tuned for our full review!
