Adobe is opening up its Creative Cloud offer for Photoshop CC, Bridge CC and Lightroom 5 to everyone at US$9.99 (S$13) per month. The offer comes with feature updates and upgrades, 20GB of cloud storage and a Behance Prosite. Two catches: You'll need to commit to a one-year plan with monthly billing, and you'll need to join by December 2, 2013.
The US$9.99 per month offer was originally limited for previous owners of Photoshop (CS3 and above). If you've already bought into Creative Cloud, you might be eligible for the offer - Adobe's FAQ page says you'd already been informed if you are.
At $13 per month, this could be the best deal yet for getting both Photoshop CC and the latest version of Lightroom in one package. The previous versions of Photoshop sold at around US$600-700, while Lightroom 5 cost US$149 - let's say they cost US$800 together. At US$9.99 per month, you'd take 80 months, or six and a half years to break even.
The only question is that no one knows how long Adobe will continue offering the US$9.99 per month price for - will it run for the entire one-year commitment and then increase in price? Will it stay constant and be raised two, three, or five years later? If you'd paid out US$800 for the previous versions, at least you'd have owned the license for the two apps in perpetuity - but then you wouldn't get free feature updates and upgrades like you would with Creative Cloud.
Choices, choices. You have until December 2nd, 2013 to make yours.
