Rumor: GeForce GTX 650 Ti Launching in October

NVIDIA is rumored to be launching its GeForce GTX 650 Ti next month in October. This GPU will supposedly fill up the market demand that will fall between the GTX 650 and GTX 660-based graphics cards. The GeForce GTX 650 Ti sports the same GK106 core as the GeForce GTX 660; however, NVIDIA has disabled one GPC and one memory controller of this core chip. Cards based on the GeForce GTX 650 Ti are limited to 1GB of video memory and feature no support for GPU Boost.

According to ExtremeTech, there are rumors that NVIDIA is planning to launch another GK106-based card that will put it squarely in-between the GTX 650 Ti and GTX 660. This new GPU is called the GTX 660 SE that will sport two GPC and a larger memory bus. With reference to the GTX 650 Ti price range, GTX 660 SE will be priced below US$200 but more expensive than the former. If these new GK106-based cards are to hit the retail market, it would definitely give more choices to consumers who are considering the AMD Radeon HD 7800 series of graphics cards, whose prices had been reduced last month.
