Ride, tap and go. Grab adds support for Android Pay

Fumbling for your wallet to pay for rides can be a thing of the past with GrabCar and GrabTaxi now that Grab has added full support for Android Pay. Simply add Android Pay to GrabPay on your mobile device, and you’ll be good to go!

All it requires is an Android phone or tablet running KitKat 4.4 or higher. A notification with the payment amount will be sent to your phone after each transaction, so you’ll have a proper receipt that you can track.

This makes it three cashless payment methods that GrabPay now supports —credit or debit card directly, AliPay, and Android Pay. Android Pay supports MasterCard and Visa credit and debit cards from many of Singapore’s financial institutions, so just add your preferred card and you’ll be good to go.

Rather than storing personal information and credit card details in the app or on the phone, a unique virtual account number is created by Android Pay instead. This is used to represent your information when you make transactions, so your personal details and 16-digit credit card number are kept safe.

After you've downloaded and set up the Android Pay app, simply head to your Grab app to add it as a payment option.

To start using the service, simply download the Android Pay app, select GrabPay in the top left menu button of the Grab app, and choose Android Pay as your payment method. Then just choose “Android Pay” before booking your next ride. Easy!
