PSA: Samsung wants you to power down your replaced Galaxy Note7; phone sales halted worldwide

Hours after suspending production of the Galaxy Note7, Samsung confirmed in a press statement that all global partners stop sales and exchanges of the device. It also urges customers with the original Galaxy Note7 or replacement unit to power down and stop using the devices. Customers should take advantage of the remedies - exchange for another device or get a refund - available.

Samsung - "We are working with relevant regulatory bodies to investigate the recently reported cases involving the Galaxy Note7. Because consumers’ safety remains our top priority, Samsung will ask all carrier and retail partners globally to stop sales and exchanges of the Galaxy Note7 while the investigation is taking place."

Samsung suspended the sales of the Galaxy Note7 last month after more than 35 cases of Galaxy Note7 with battery issues were reported worldwide. In the past week, several replacement units of the Galaxy Note7 caught fire, which were supposedly free from any battery defects.
