PowerColor Announces PCS+ R9 290X and R9 290 Graphics Cards
PowerColor has announced the PCS+ R9 290X and R9 290 graphics cards. Both cards feature overclocked GPU cores and video memory. Fret not as they are cooled by the PCS+ cooling solution that the company claims to be 24% cooler than reference design ones.
The PowerColor PCS+ R9 290X has a GPU core that is rated to operate at a peak rate 1050MHz, versus the default speed of 1000MHz. On the other hand, the PCS+ R9 290 has been overclocked to 1040MHz, a nearly 10% increment over the stock frequency of 947MHz.
In October last year, PowerColor was one of the first add-in card partners to release their AMD R9 series cards, with the PowerColor R9 290X 4GB GDDR5 OverClocked that was bundled with Battlefield 4 PC game title.
