Pioneer Announces New Sound Bars at IFA 2013

Pioneer is also here at IFA, and we were surprised to see some new sound bars from the company. There are three of them: the entry level SBX-300, the midrange SBX-N500, and the flagship SBX-N700.

Features-wise, all three are capable of wireless connectivity, be it through Wi-Fi, W-Fi Direct, Bluetooth, or DLNA (on the two higher-end models). And they use Pioneer's wide band full-range speaker driver technology and Phase Control tech to improve their sonic performance. But only the N500 and N700 have Miracast (that uses Wi-Fi Direct) for mobile screen mirroring on your TV. Also, only the high-end N700 comes with a separate 150W wireless subwoofer; the other two use integrated twin subs.

In terms of connectivity, besides Bluetooth, the SBX-300 gets two optical, one coaxial, and one analog inputs. The SBX-N500 and N700 have HDMI, two optical inputs, and one stereo mini-jack. Both also sport a USB port (5V, 0.5A) at the front. All three sound bars however can be controlled from your smart device using the Pioneer Control App that's available on the Apple App Store and Google Play Store.

The SBX-300, SBX-N500 and SBX-N700 speaker bar systems will be available starting from November in Europe, and are priced at 249 €, 349 €, and 449 € respectively.
