SINGAPORE - Panasonic is pleased to announce a new addition to its range of interchangeable lens system cameras from the LUMIX G Micro System range - the premium mirror-less interchangeable lens camera, DMC-GX1.

Engineered to deliver high image quality, the DMC-GX1 sports a 16.0-megapixel Live MOS sensor and Venus Engine, delivering beautifully clear and sharp images. It captures life-like details with excellent resolution through image rendering and colour reproduction even when images are captured in low-light settings.

The DMC-GX1 is built to make capturing fast moving subjects a breeze. It comes with a Precision Contrast AF (Auto Focus) system that has a 0.09 second Light Speed AF. Consecutive shooting is shot at an impressive 4.2 fps in 16.0-megapixel full resolution, allowing every swift moment, every facial expression to be caught on film to produce a memorable picture. The camera includes a newly added focus mode, AFF (AF Flexible). It locks on the subject when the shutter button is half-pressed, and the focus will reset if the subject moves again, to achieve better results.

As a camera from the new premium line of LUMIX G Micro System, the aesthetic design of the camera has been developed with no compromise on function, namely its grip, dial, and coating. The hot shoe on the top lets you attach the optional tilt-shift Live View Finder (DMW-LVF2). Despite its outstanding compactness, the operation on the camera is smooth and easy with optimum layout of control buttons and the mode dial, turn-and-press dial and dedicated function buttons. It also comes with Level Gauge which lets the camera detect the horizontal/vertical angle of view with its internal level working with the acceleration sensor. Photos shot in portrait mode will be automatically displayed vertically.

Video-recording is made easy as it records in 1920 x 1080 full-HD video with stereo sound in AVCHD format which is superior in both compression efficiency and compatibility with AV equipment for playback. Its advanced AF system includes practical full-time AF and also a tracking AF. This allows even beginners to shoot high quality videos with ease.

Users are also free to express their creativity through the DMC-GX1’s Artistic Color Control Functions and iA (Intelligent Auto) Plus mode, where users are free to enhance their photos with creative filters such as: Expressive, Retro, High Key, Sepia, High Dynamic, Miniature Effect and newly added Low Key and Toy Effect mode.
