Panasonic Launches Rugged 7-inch Android Toughpad at CommunicAsia 2013

Today at CommunicAsia 2013, Panasonic launched the JT-B1 Toughpad for Asia-Pacific, a 7-inch tablet operating on Android Ice Cream Sandwich that is equipped with a magnesium alloy chassis encased with ABS and elastomer corner guards, making it US Military MIL-STD-810G and IP65 certified and resistant to dust, water, shock, humidity, temperature and drops of up to 1.5m.

The JT-B1 is powered by a Texas Instruments OMAP4460 1.5GHz Dual-Core processor with 1GB RAM and a 16GB storage capacity. Other features include NFC capabilities, a micro-SD slot and a 13-megapixel rear camera.

The JT-B1 joins Panasonic's existing Toughpad range, which includes the Android-powered 10.1-inch FZ-A1 and the 10.1-inch Windows 8 Pro FZ-G1, both of which were announced earlier this year.
