OneDrive increases file size limit to 10GB
Microsoft’s OneDrive is getting better everyday. Just recently, it has bumped its free storage capacity from 7GB to 15GB for Microsoft account holders, and to 1TB for Office 365 subscribers; as well as introduced lower-priced monthly subscription storage options. Now, it’s allowing non-business users to upload files up to 10GB (it was 2GB previously) via the desktop apps for Windows and Mac, all of the mobile apps, and the OneDrive website.
In addition, OneDrive will be increasing the number of files that can be downloaded or uploaded simultaneously on PCs and Macs in the coming weeks. In short, this should result in much faster syncing speeds.
If you’re using Windows 7 and 8, you will also be able to get links to your content in your OneDrive folder without the need to go to the web interface. This feature has begun its rollout to OneDrive on Windows 7 and 8, and will be available worldwide within a few weeks. The update for Windows 8.1 and Mac will follow shortly after.
Microsoft didn’t forget to update the OneDrive website for those who live in browsers too. If you’ve a compatible browser (e.g., Chrome), you can now drag folders directly into OneDrive.com.
