Nintendo Reveals Price, Release Date and Games for 3DS

The Nintendo 3DS, slated to release on Mar 27, uses a process called autostereoscopy, which allows 3D effects without the need for any special glasses. In addition to the obvious new 3D component, some publishers have also added twists to new 3DS versions of popular games.

Mashable - When Mashable had a chance to play with the new console at the E3 Conference in June and again earlier this month, we were impressed with the device’s no-glasses-required 3.5-inch 3D screen and the experience it created.

And that was before we played our favorite games. At the New York event, seven different game publishers showed off new 3DS titles. In addition to the obvious new 3D component, some publishers have also added twists to new 3DS versions of popular games. Nintendogs now includes cats. Super Street Fighter 4 has a fight request mode that will allow players to locate other players wirelessly and jump into games. And a new submarine game called Steeldiver has a periscope mode that spins as you do (perhaps on a desk chair?). Dead or Alive Dimensions, Pilotwings, The Legend of Zelda, Kid Icarus, Asphalt, Lego Star Wars and Madden NFL were also among previewed 3D games at the event.
