Nikon's Retro DSLR, the Df, On Sale Now in Singapore, Local Prices Announced

Nikon's retro DSLR camera, the Df, and the AF-S Nikkor 50mm f/1.8G lens have arrived on Singapore's shores and is now on sale. The local prices are:

  • S$3,699 (body only, black or silver)
  • S$3,999 (with AF-S Nikkor 50mm f/1.8G lens special kit, black or silver)
  • S$399 (AF-S Nikkor 50mm f/1.8G)

Announced in early November, the Df (short for Digital Fusion), is basically a 16MP D4 sensor wrapped inside a FM-inspired body with a combination of digital and mechanical controls. The sensor is made for high performance in the dark, with an ISO range of 50 to an astronomical 204,800. Measuring 143.5 x 110 x 66.5mm and weighing approximately 710g (body alone), the Df is roughly the size of the D610 and slightly lighter.

At S$3,699, you can think of the Df as a budget D4, which goes for S$9,799 for the body alone. It is higher than the D600's S$2999, but (and this is a loud but) the Df comes with the same AF system found in the entry-level D600, which scrunches all the AF points into the middle part of the frame. Check out what we have to say in our hands-on with the Nikon Df to find out more.

Before you head down to the shops with cash in hand, Nikon's advice is to call the dealers ahead of time to check if they have stock.
