Next Xbox Rumored to Feature Voice Recognition
Next Xbox Rumored to Feature Voice Recognition
According to rumors, the next Xbox console, codenamed Durango, will feature SIRI-like voice recognition, allowing users to command the console by speaking commands.
For example, one could say "Xbox on" to turn the console on. The new Xbox is also said to feature natural language controls and speech-to-text. One could therefore ask the console things like "What are my friends playing" to activate the Friend's list. With speech-to-text, users would no longer need to use the clumsy controller to send messages.
Rumors also indicate that Microsoft will hold a separate event just before E3 to unveil the new console. And, like the next PlayStation console, the new Xbox is expected to hit stores later this year.
Here's to the next round of console wars.
