New Chrome Beta Released for Android

Google Chrome Beta 27 (27.0.1453.49 to be exact) has just been moved over to the Beta channel and is now available for download at the Google Play Store for your Android device. The new version comes with a set of small fixes and features.

The biggest change is a new and improved full screen mode. Scrolling down a page will not make the top toolbar of the browser disappear from view. Previously this toolbar would always remain visible no matter what your location on the page you were on. The new full screen mode will obviously help increase the display of webiste content on your smaller smartphone screen since precious pixels will no longer be used up by the toolbar.

On the other hand, search queries from Google on the Chrome Beta browser have gone in the opposite direction. With Chrome Beta, the Google Omnibiox will keep your search query visible even as you scroll down the list of results. This move is intended to help people keep track of the query they had input.

Chrome Beta 27 has to be installed manually and can be found in the Play Store by searching for "Chrome Beta". Be warned though, seeing that the browser is still in Beta known issues include slow input of text in some text fields as well slow opening up of tabs in some instances.
