MSI Releases MSI 780 Gaming 6G Graphics Card

MSI has released the 780 Gaming 6G graphics card that refreshes its GeForce GTX 780 Gaming series. Sporting the same GK110 GPU as its predecessor, the MSI GeForce GTX 780 Twin Frozr Gaming 3GB GDDR5 OC, the new card now features 6GB of GDDR5 video memory.

The 780 Gaming 6G card is able to toggle between different operating modes, OC, Gaming, and Silent, and its GPU's clock speed will be adjusted accordingly. With reference to its official specifications, the card has a base clock of 954MHz (OC Mode), and a boost clock of 1006MHz. Only its 6GB memory modules have been left alone to operate at the official clock speed of 6008MHz, over its 384-bit wide interface.

The card also sports Military Class IV power delivery components, and its Twin Frozr IV Advanced cooling system is known to deliver. This card is clearly targeted at gamers looking to build an NVIDIA SLI-enabled gaming system, which should be ideally paired with an Ultra HD or 4K display. As a single card, the additional video memory will hardly make a difference at most standard display resolutions. Currently, its local availability and price are still under wraps, but do watch this space for more updates.
