MSI R7870 Hawk Takes Flight!
Based on the AMD Radeon HD 7870 GPU, MSI announced its R7870 Hawk that now boasts of design concepts adopted from the Lightning series. With an unlocked BIOS, digital power regulation as well as enhanced power design, the R7870 Hawk is ready to soar to newer overclocking heights!

The MSI R7870 Hawk rolls off the production lines with an overclocked GPU of 1100MHz which is 100MHz higher than a reference AMD Radeon HD 7870. The board also features MSI Unlocked Digital Power that comprises the following components:- unlocked BIOS, digital PWM controller, and enhanced power design. With its unlocked BIOS, the graphics card is not bounded by the limits of the AMD Catalyst Control Center (CCC). Its digital PWM system ensures stable and more accurate voltage for more stable overclocks and its enhanced power design touts to provide more power than AMD reference design.
As a matter of fact, the MSI R7870 Hawk sports a "GPU Reactor" power panel that is installed directly behind the card's GPU for ultimate power control and delivery to its GPU. In order to cool the card during overclocking exercises, the card features the next-generation Twin Frozr IV Thermal Design, with a pair of 80mm (with dust removal technology) fans to cool its heatsinks as well as its 8mm heatpipes.
The card also boasts of Military Class III components certified to MIL-STD-810G military standards. We first encountered these upgraded military-specs components during our preview of the MSI X79A-GD65 (8D), an Intel X79 Express chipset based motherboard.

The MSI R7870 Hawk is targeted at gamers and overclockers who need to take to greater heights in their gaming experiences.
