Motorola phones from 2014 and 2013 to get Android 5.0 update "really soon"

The Moto X (2014) is one of the many Motorola phones to get the Android 5.0 update "really soon".

If you bought a Motorola phone in 2013 or 2014, it is highly likely that your phone will be updated to the latest Android flavor very soon.

According to Motorola's software engineer Luciano Carvalho, phones released in the past two years (2013 and 2014) will be updated to Android 5.0 Lollipop "really soon". In fact, some users have received Android 5.0.2 based over-the-air (OTA) updates which the engineer claimed to be a "limited soak test roll out".

He also assured users that the update will be rolled out to a wider audience if no serious bugs are reported. To ensure that these devices receive the OTA update, users need to have the latest Motorola Updates Services from the Google Play Store.

Judging from his statements, it is safe to assume that the Moto X (2014), Moto X (2013), Moto G with 4G LTE and Moto G will be getting the update. Just a few days ago, LG Singapore announced that the Lollipop update is available for the G3.
