First announced in January, Microsoft has today provided more details about its Surface Hub large-screen collaboration device.

First up, the Surface Hub will be available for pre-order starting July 1, with shipping expected to begin in September. It’s available in 24 markets, namely the U.S., Canada, Australia, Austria, Belgium, Denmark, France, Finland, Germany, Ireland, Italy, Japan, Luxembourg, the Netherlands, New Zealand, Norway, Portugal, Qatar, Singapore, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, United Arab Emirates, and the U.K. Available in 55 and 84-inch screen sizes, the Surface Hub models are priced at US$6,999 and US$19,999 respectively.

We also got more details on the hardware that powers the Surface Hub. For example, both models use optically bonded displays capable of detecting 100 points of multitouch and up to three simultaneous pen inputs. Both also have 8GB RAM, 128GB of SSD storage, dual 1080p front-facing cameras, and a four-element microphone array that detects and follows voices to eliminate background noise during videoconferencing sessions. Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.0, NFC, and a variety of ports for easy wired and wireless connectivity options are also onboard. Expectedly, the Surface Hub runs Windows 10 that’s tailored for group use, with ink and touch at its core. Microsoft Office apps like Word, Excel, and PowerPoint are included too, as well as OneNote whiteboard and Skype for Business.

That said, there are differences between the two models. The 55-inch Surface Hub is powered by an Intel 4th-gen Core i5 processor while the 84-inch model uses a Core i7. And in the graphics department, the smaller Surface Hub uses Intel HD 4600, but its larger sibling uses an NVIDIA Quadro K2200 with 640 CUDA cores. Also, the screen used on the 55-inch model has a 1080p resolution, versus the 4K resolution found on the 84 incher.
