Linksys has just updated its Smart Wi-Fi remote router management app. The app has a fresh new interface and also introduces new features.

For the uninitiated, the Smart Wi-Fi app allows users to remotely control and manage their Linksys Smart Wi-Fi routers.

It allows users to do things like remotely reboot the router, update its firmware, enable guest networking, change Wi-Fi settings, and even set parental controls.

The new app features a new look that is decidedly more modern looking and even easier to navigate.

The app also has some new features such as offline notification (available only on the new EA9500 for now), which can alert users on their mobile devices should their router lose its connection to the Internet.

The Parental Controls function has also been made more powerful. Linksys even plans to allow parents to setup schedules for individual devices, giving parents more control over their children's Internet access. This feature will be rolled out later this year.

The new Linksys Smart Wi-Fi app is now available as a free download on the App Store and Google Play.
