LG's D1L Flagship Android Smartphone Set To Take On Samsung Galaxy S III
While the world awaits the launch of the Samsung Galaxy S III, its Korean rival LG is already preparing the LG D1L, which according to rumors is scheduled for a May release.
Korean website DDaily (webpage is in Korean) reports that the D1L will sport a 1.5GHz dual-core Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 processor (unlike the quad-core Optimus 4X HD) and a 4.7-inch IPS display with a 1280 x 720-pixel resolution.
The reason for using a Qualcomm chipset became obvious, when it's revealed that the D1L will also come with LTE capability. This is similar to what HTC did with the HTC One X which has two variants - one that uses the NVIDIA Tegra 3 quad-core processor with HSDPA support, while the other is getting the Qualcomm chipset with LTE integrated within.
The D1L will be preloaded with Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich, with pricing still unknown as of now.
