LG’s 98-inch UB980T 4K TV now in stores

Earlier this year, we reported on LG’s 2014 4K TV lineup that runs the new WebOS interface. The top of the line series is the UB980T, which up till only recently, tops out at 84 inches.

Now, if an 84-inch screen size still isn’t big enough for you, know that the 98UB980T - that is, the 98-inch version of the UB980T - is now available in stores. Like its smaller sibling, this TV uses a 4K IPS panel, sports the company’s True 4K Engine Pro and Triple XD Engine, runs WebOS, supports HDMI 2.0 and DVB-T2, and comes with a built-in 4K HEVC 60p decoder. It also has an integrated 5.2-channel front-sliding speaker system for powerful surround sound.

Of course, at S$39,999, the 98UB980T targets the very wealthy. Weighing 98kg and sporting a very large profile (it measures about 2.3 meters across and 1.6 meters in height with the feet), be prepared for it to take up a fair bit of space too. In fact, we aren't sure if it can even go into a typical HDB lift.
