LG Introduces New AV Products with Enhanced Smart TV Functions and Intuitive UX
LG Electronics today announced its 2013 audio and video lineup, which will be on display at CES in Las Vegas. Headlining the announcement are the BH9430PW 9.1-channel speaker system, NB4530A Sound Bar, BP730 Blu-ray player with Smart TV features, the ND8630 Dual Docking Speaker and the NP6630 Portable Speaker.
The BH9430PW 9.1-channel speaker system aims to take home theater sound performance to the next level. It adds four channels to the typical 5.1 setup, and this is provided by way of four tallboy speakers, which help envelop the entire room with sound. Additionally, this is helped by the system's 3D Surround Processor and the use of high tensile Aramid fibers in the construction of the speaker cones. In addition, it has other excellent Smart TV capabilities such as web browsing. The BH9430PW also includes an iPod dock to charge devices and provide access to stored content. If this interests you, we've a preliminary hands-on article that gathers our opinion of the home theater system in action in a dedicated listening room at LG's booth in CES 2013.
The NB4530A Soundbar has a slim design and complements today's ultra-slim TVs. The unit has a 3D Surround Processor and 310W speakers for a compelling cinematic experience.
The BP730 Blu-ray player features a host of Smart TV options including Video-On-Demand (depending on your region) and wireless connectivity options. The BP730 also supports Near Field Communication (NFC) for wireless and seamless content mirroring from smartphones and other external devices. In essence, it features LG Smart Share (including Miracast support) and LG Magic Remote. The last but important highlight is Ultra HD (4K) resolution upscaling. It goes without saying that the BP730 will command a premium pricing. Meanwhile, LG also has a more mainstream variant of it called the BP630 and it forgoes Ultra HD upscaling and the Magic Remote.
The ND8630 Dual Docking Speaker supports dock-and-play for both iOS and Android mobile devices. The 80W speaker conveniently charges the batteries of all docked devices. It can also recognize and wirelessly play music files saved on smartphones, tablets, laptops and desktop PCs that support Bluetooth and Apple’s AirPlay.
Finally, the NP6630 is LG’s newest portable speaker. The versatile 20W unit supports Near Field Communication (NFC), AirPlay and Bluetooth to wirelessly stream music from a diverse range of mobile devices.
