Updated 14/5/13: Lenovo has just lowered the starting price for the Lenovo ThinkPad X1 Carbon Touch. It now starts at $2999, instead of the previously reported price of $3299.
Lenovo has announced the availability of the new 14-inch ThinkPad X1 Carbon Touch, retaining its lightweight carbon fiber chassis and hallmark durability, and combines it with the simplicity of touch control to offer mobile professionals new ways of interacting with digital content while on-the-go.
Despite weighing in at a svelte 1.54 kg and measuring just 20.8mm thin, the X1 Carbon Touch’s carbon fiber chassis gives strength and durability beyond traditional notebook materials – allowing it to sustain any bumps or rough handling while on the road. Lenovo’s RapidCharge technology allows mobile workers to quickly juice up the X1 Carbon before their next meeting, and optional 3G connectivity means that work can happen anytime, anywhere – no more worrying about having to find a Wi-Fi signal to get online.
The X1 Carbon Touch supports 10-finger touch that combines well with the large multi-gesture glass touchpad to enrich the Windows 8 experience, and enable new and more productive ways to work. Supporting that is an Intel Ivy Bridge processor that provides the necessary processing power. Certified as the first Ultrabook optimized for Microsoft Lync, the HD face-tracking camera and dual array microphones ensure high quality video and voice track capability without the need for USB peripherals.
The business user will also appreciate the peace of mind afforded by the X1 Carbon Touch, with state of the art security and manageability including vPro, Integrated Fingerprint Reader, Trusted Platform Module and BIOS encryption.
The Lenovo ThinkPad X1 Carbon Touch is currently retailing at all authorized Lenovo retailers with prices starting from S$3,299.
