Lenovo’s new Miix 720 2-in-1 notebook is designed for crossover consumers in mind

Just like crossover utility vehicle (CUV) that marries aspects of a full-fledged SUV and that of a passenger hatchback vehicle, Lenovo thinks its latest 2-in-1 detachable notebook has got what it takes to perform up to expectations in both casual lifestyle usage in the form of video watching or to serve up the power needed for creative professionals to express their artistic thoughts precisely.

Building on the recently launched Miix 510 (and its more direct predecessor, the Miix 700), the Miix 720 takes all its advantages like its 2-in-1 nature, a sturdy full size detachable keyboard (now with backlighting) that doesn’t wobble in use with its comfortable 1.5mm key travel, a 150-degree continuous watchband design kickstand and brings them in an updated platform.

The Miix 720 boasts of a much more capable hardware platform and can is one of the earlier Lenovo machines that will feature the just launched Intel 7th Gen Core (Kaby Lake) processor for more performance per watt and better media handling capability , can be configured with up to 16GB of DDR4 memory and 1TB of PCIe SSD. Its QHD+ 12-inch, 400 nits bright touchscreen with Gorilla Glass boasts a resolution of 2,880 x 1,920 pixels for an ultra-sharp display whether in use as a laptop or notebook form factor. The entire notebook with the detachable keyboard only weighs 1.1kg and is 14.6mm at its thickest.

Over on the other side, the Lenovo Miix 720 can be seen sporting a Thunderbolt 3 port, a highlight for this versatile 2-in-1 notebook.

System authentication now has facial recognition as an option with the help of Windows Hello and the integrated infrared camera for a fast and convenient mode of authentication.

Also available for the Miix 720 is a Lenovo Active Pen 2 stylus with 4,096 levels of pressure sensitivity for precise note taking, sketching and brainstorming. It’s after all a more natural process and the digital format ensures that it’s saved for instant sharing.

The Lenovo Miix 720 is slated to be available from April 2017 and its base price will be from US$999. It will be offered in Champagne Gold (as seen in this article) and Iron Gray colors. While the the Lenovo Active Pen 2 stylus will be available for US$59, the notebook will come bundled with it.
