An anonymous source tipped off Engadget, revealing Lenovo's plan to release a 10.1-inch tablet powered by NVIDIA's new quad-core Tegra 3 processor, loaded with Google Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich before the end of 2011.

The rumored Lenovo tablet will also come with a 2GB RAM to bolster its multi-tasking capabilities, a rear camera (though its resolution hasn't been reported as of now) and a fingerprint scanner which also acts as the optical joystick. The source did not reveal any specific details on the tablet's dimensions and weight, but from what we see on this image, it should not deviate too far from Lenovo's earlier ThinkPad Tablet.

Till now, most Android tablets have been employing NVIDIA's Tegra processors, and its upcoming quad-core Tegra 3 processor (codenamed Kal-El), promises an overall processing throughput 5 times that of its earlier dual-core Tegra 2 processor. This should translate to quad-core tablets with a much smoother user experience, some of which have been unveiled such as the ASUS Eee Pad Transformer Prime, while HTC is rumored to be introducing one at the annual Mobile World Congress in 2012.
