Lenovo Desktops Equip Large Businesses with Productivity, Security and Manageability

Lenovo announced the ThinkCentre M91 and M91p desktops designed to give large businesses the highest levels of performance, security and manageability. Available in tower, small form factor and eco small form factor versions, the desktops are designed for speed and performance with technologies including SATA III, USB 3.0, Lenovo Enhanced Experience 2.0 and support for four monitors; and security and manageability with the latest Intel Core vPro processors on the M91p desktop.

Do More, Faster

The new desktops are Lenovo’s fastest ThinkCentre desktops yet. They speed up multi-tasking thanks for a variety of new performance technologies including the Intel Core i3 processors on the ThinkCentre M91 and Intel Core i5 and i7 processors on the M91p, all with integrated Intel HD graphics. The desktops allow ultimate expandability with four DIMM slots delivering up to 16 GB of high speed DDR3 memory on select models. Additionally, SATA III technology reads and writes data two times faster than previous versions, while USB 3.0 transfers data between devices up to 10 times faster than USB 2.0. For users who rely on multiple screens to work with data or graphics, select models can support up to four independent displays via a discrete graphics card.

The desktops pack in extra features for even more robust performance including eight USB ports for connecting external devices and high definition audio for voice and video conferencing. Additionally, select models offer an optional second hard drive, two PCI slots and an eSATA port. Users can also jump online and quickly browse digital content with Gigabit Ethernet. Additionally, the desktops include several of Lenovo’s ThinkVantage Technologies - Rescue and Recovery, System Update and Power Manager - to help users with common PC tasks such as backing up and recovering data, updating their PC and saving energy.

Start Up, Shut Down Faster With Enhanced Experience 2.0

Customers can start their Lenovo PC on average 20 seconds faster than a typical Windows 7 computer thanks to Lenovo RapidBoot technology featured on all Enhanced Experience 2.0 PCs. RapidBoot technology uses a range of proprietary optimization techniques to deliver even faster start-up and 28 percent faster shutdown speeds. Customers can identify Lenovo Enhanced Experience 2.0 PCs through a special Lenovo Enhanced Experience 2.0 for Windows 7 certification sticker affixed to them.

Secure and Manageable

The ThinkCentre M91p desktop provides the highest levels of manageability for IT staff responsible for managing large fleets of PCs. With the latest Intel vPro technology, security technologies are designed into PC hardware instead of software, making the PC less vulnerable to security threats. The ThinkCentre M91 and M91p desktops include a variety of security features such as USB port disablement for physically managing data going in and out of a PC. Lenovo includes Hardware Password Manager standard for simple management of encrypted hard drives. Additionally, the ThinkCentre M91 and M91p desktops include a Trusted Platform Module 9TPM), a secure cryptoprocessor chip that manages encryption keys and processes.

Pricing and Availability

The ThinkCentre M91 and M91p desktops (tower and small form factor) will be available on April 11, 2011 through business partners and www.lenovo.com/sg. Models for the ThinkCentre M91 and M91p desktops start at SGD 1,035.
