Kingston Releases MobileLite Wireless G2 Media Streamer & M.2 SATA SSDs

Kingston has announced its second generation MobileLite wireless media streamer, the MobileLite Wireless G2, as well as its M.2 2280 SATA SSD at Computex 2014.

MobileLite Wireless G2

Enabling smartphone and tablet users to extend onboard device storage and stream and share content with multiple users, it has a 4,640mAh 3.8v battery for mobile charging, and a direct Ethernet port for wireless Internet routing, Wi-Fi bridging. The USB port also allows for 3G dongle support.

Instead of deleting files from a smartphone or tablet to create room, users can wirelessly transfer photos, movies, or music to a USB drive or flash card. Photos and videos can be sent directly to the social media platform without the need to connect to a PC. Also, when fully charged, the internal battery of the MobileLite Wireless G2 is capable of charging most smartphones twice.

The MobileLite Wireless G2 is backed by a two-year warranty.

M.2 2280 SATA SSD

Ideal for Ultrabooks, smaller design embedded systems, ultra-thin computing devices, and motherboards that support the Intel Z97 chipset, the new SSD features advanced garbage collection, wear leveling, and TRIM support to keep drive performance consistent over the life of the drive. SATA DevSleep allows efficient power management and minimal power consumption while also allowing devices to stay on and connected without necessarily reducing battery life.

It also features firmware-based power-loss protection to maintain data integrity in case of unexpected power loss or unsafe shutdown. M.2 2280 SATA SSD ships initially in the 120GB capacity with 240GB and 480GB to follow in Q3 2014, and is backed by a three-year warranty.
