At IBC 2013, Irdeto has announced the evolution of Irdeto Multiscreen which is a pre-configured solution for pushing out on-demand content across a range of devices and is ready for operator branding.
The adoption of smartphones and tablets has meant that consumers are viewing content on smaller screens in increasing numbers. Iredto Multiscreen is designed to help content producers to take advantage of this trend. It offers a cloud-based infrastructure to help deliver OTT content, both paid and free, across the whole range of screens.
Multiscreen debits on Digisoft’s HTML5 middleware, which Irdeto has used to build compliant standards. In addition, Iredeto is also able to offer recommendation engines, social media integration and targeting advertising on their Multiscreen platform. The recommendation engine will be powered by XroadMedia’s content discovery software which works based on categorical algorithms, social graphs and user habits.
Monetization of the content can be achieved via advertising, subscriptions and pay-per-view programming. A full range of DRM support is also included for security and protection of revenue for operators.
