iPhone 6s early adopters having issues with burning hot TouchID button
It appears that the first batch of iPhone 6s and 6s Plus is running into some technical issues. One hot topic is about how some users are experiencing problems with having a TouchID button that’s too hot to touch, coupled with boot-up issues regarding their iPhone 6s and iPhone 6s Plus. Several users have taken their issues to the official Apple forum to share their woes.
According to user experiences, the problem exists across iPhone 6s and 6s Plus of different storage sizes, and there’s currently no official fix. Some forums users have suggested doing a phone reset by holding the power button down for 10 seconds. While it has worked for some iPhone 6s and 6s Plus units, this should be done at your own risk, as it is not an official solution.

As for how hot the Home button can become, we’ve documented some Apple forum users saying that it’s “too hot to touch”. Others have taken to describing their problems, such this particular excerpt by iPhone user “Cleveland is the City”:
“I hit snooze on my alarm this morning and went back to bed - woke up about 15 minutes later and tried to check my phone to see what time it was. I burnt my thumb and immediately dropped the phone back on the dresser.”
According to 9to5Mac, the TouchID is just one of the few issues these new iPhones are facing. Other users have also encountered significant audio distortion and speaker problems where the phone's notification audio playback is loud enough to crackle. iPhones are also suddenly turning off for no reason, even with sufficient battery levels. Our forum users are also currently experiencing similar problems – the discussion can be found here, and here.
