IK Multimedia has released two stereo speakers, namely the iLoud and the iLoud Mini, with an ambitious brief. Using their 16 years of experience, the company intends the new products to deliver sonic accuracy on par with professional audio monitors in a portable package. The speakers are supposed to make it easier for musicians to compose and record on the road.
To give you an idea of the size of the devices, the iLoud Mini has the same breadth and length as an iPad Mini while the iLoud is comparable to the dimensions of the iPad. Obviously the speakers do not match the tablets in terms of the latter’s thinness, and both the speakers measure in at 2.3 inches thick.
The iLoud comes with quality, custom designed neodymium loudspeakers and a bi-amped four driver array. The smaller iLoud Mini on the other hand just has a pair of full range tasked with providing audio. Both models have been equipped with on-board DSP to ensure accuracy and efficiency for sound at all volume levels.
Audio playback can be achieved via Bluetooth. A 3.5mm is also provided for wired operation. You can plug in your electric instruments and microphone to the device through the aux input. With the help of the AmpliTube and VocaLive applications on your smartphone, you can use effects for the audio output as well.
