Huawei Teases New Mobile Devices at MWC 2014, Trolls Apple and Samsung in Video
We've seen a couple of interesting ad videos in the past few months ranging from the self-healing rear of the LG G Flex to Microsoft slamming its rivals' tablets to Samsung teaching you how to snag a date with its Galaxy Gear. Just two days ago, Huawei released a Youtube video teasing its upcoming mobile devices at Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2014. It goes a step further by trolling its competitors - Apple and Samsung - towards the end of the video.
The one-minute video starts with an iPhone user asking a Siri-like assistant to show him something really amazing at MWC 2014. The virtual assistant goes on to reveal that "there's a new tablet with a beautiful slim design" and a huge, long lasting battery.
It also teases another new multimedia tablet which will provide "the ultimate entertainment experience". From the video, the speaker grille on the tablet seems to take its cues from the front-facing speakers of HTC's One devices.
In addition, Huawei is unveiling a new smartphone with "an amazing front camera". The company claims that "this amazing device can even support the next generation LTE network".
The iPhone user appears to be very impressed with the products and asked whether they are "fruit or Some Song". The virtual assistant replied that "they are Huawei", and that the Chinese company is ready to amaze the world again.
Huawei is holding a launch event on February 23, one day before MWC 2014 kicks off. It unveiled the Ascend P2 last year, which is the first smartphone to support LTE CAT 4 speeds of up to 150Mbps. It looks like Huawei is going to do it again this year with its new smartphone.
