HTC Rumored to Launch "M7" Flagship Phone in Q1 2013

HTC is said to be preparing a flagship model, M7 for release in Q1 2013. Seen here is the alleged press image of the HTC Deluxe.

2013 looks to be the year where phone manufacturers move into the 5-inch territory for smartphones, and multiple reports indicate that HTC is preparing to launch another 5-inch device in Q1 2013.

According to Focus Taiwan, Hong-Kong-based brokerage CLSA-Asia Pacifc Markets claimed that HTC has asked casing and semiconductor suppliers to prepare 4 to 5 million components for its next flagship model, M7.

HTC Source,a blog offering exclusive coverage for HTC and its products asserted that the M7 will come with a 5-inch HD display, a unibody aluminum chassis, a Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 Pro APQ8064 quad-core processor and a 13-megapixel camera.

The M7 device is said to be released in February 2013, ahead of the rumored launch of the Samsung Galaxy S IV in April. There are also speculations that HTC will be unveiling the world's first phone powered by NVIDIA Tegra 4 processor.

The Taiwanese company recently unveiled the HTC J Buttery for Japan, and its equivalent, the Droid DNA in the U.S. The device sports the same Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 Pro quad-core processor, 2GB RAM, a 5-inch Super LCD 3 display, Android 4.1, Sense 4+, an 8-megapixel rear camera and 2020mAh battery. The international version, HTC Deluxe, is said to be hitting markets soon.

For now, the schedule for the launch of the HTC M7 seems plausible as the company took the wraps off a new line of Android smartphones under the "One" branding earlier this year at Mobile World Congress 2012.
