When CynaogenMod became an incorporated entity, they stated that one of their first goals was the make the installation process for CyanogenMod an easier process. To this effect the CyanogenMod Installer application was introduced on to the Google Play Store and it succeeded to a certain degree in making the installation process much simpler.
But the CyanogenMod Installer app has now been removed from the Play Store, not even able to last out a full month. Google contacted CyanogenMod telling them that their application violated the developer terms seeing that it encouraged users to void the warranty of their Android devices. Google asked CyanogenMod to take the app down and they complied.
The installer application can still be found at Get Started section at CynaogenMod.org. It can be "side-loaded" onto devices and CynaogenMod stated that they are working on getting the installer application Amazon's and Samsung's app stores. But the wide spread reach of Google's Play Store can no longer be leveraged by CyanogenMod to get their alternative ROM out on the market.
